Early Life

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Nino began her journey in ballet at age six. Her formal training commenced at age 10 when she entered the Vakhtang Chabukiani Tbilisi State Ballet School. Her talent and discipline led her to graduate as the top student of the Class of 2010. That same year, she immediately began performing with the State Ballet of Georgia, officially joining the company as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2011.

2013-

Career Beginnings

Under the mentorship of Artistic Director Nina Ananiashvili, Nino’s professional career accelerated rapidly. In 2013, she participated in “Rigas Pavasaris” International Ballet Competition, where she was awarded the Gold Medal for her performance of the Black Swan Pas de deux. Her exceptional technical prowess and artistry led to an immediate debut in major classical roles, most notably as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake that same year. Following a series of acclaimed performances in every leading role within the company’s repertoire, Nino was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2014.

Nino’s Repertoire

Nino’s extensive repertoire features the most demanding roles in classical ballet, including Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty), Kitri (Don Quixote), Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Nikiya and Gamzatti (La Bayadère), Giselle (Giselle), and Laurencia (Laurencia). Her versatility extends to contemporary and neoclassical masterpieces by legendary choreographers such as Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Mikhail Fokine, Jiří Kylián, and Ilya Jivoy.

Dancing Worldwide

As a Principal Dancer with State Ballet of Georgia, Nino has been a featured performer at the Tbilisi Ballet Festival for the last five consecutive years. Moreover, she has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages, including the London Coliseum, Dubai Opera, and the National Theatre of Belarus, with tours spanning Ireland, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany, and Austria. Her international reputation has also earned her invitations as a guest artist in countries like Japan, Greece, and Italy. In addition to her stage career, Nino is a graduate of the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Class of 2015), where she earned a degree as a Ballet Tutor and Choreographer, further solidifying her expertise in the art form.

Career Milestones

Officially joined the State Ballet of Georgia as a member of the Corps de Ballet.

Won the Grand Prix and Gold Medal at the “Rigas Pavasaris” International Ballet Competition in Latvia.

Made her professional debut in the dual lead role of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake.

Promoted to Principal Dancer under the directorship of Nina Ananiashvili.

Nino graces the stage worldwide, headlining the company’s international tours and performing as a guest artist in international galas.
